Bloomsburg Downs Millersville in Lacrosse

MILLERSVILLE--Samantha King (Elkton, Md/Northeast) and Kelsey Quigley (Lansdale/Methacton) both scored three times to lead the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team to a 13-10 win over Millersville on Tuesday.
The Huskies jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the game through the first 12 minutes of play. After the Marauders scored twice to cut the lead in half, Quigley scored her second goal of the period to put the Huskies on top 5-2. With the Huskies leading 6-5 at halftime on goal by King just before the break, Millersville came out in the second half and tied the score at 6-6, then 7-7. However, the Huskies would get consecutive goals from Quigley, Brieann Wolfe (Perkasie/Pennridge) and Kelsey Schwann (Burnt Hills, NY/West Chester) to take a 10-7 lead.
Bloomsburg would later stretch its lead to 12-8 before a couple of late goals from Millersville made the final 13-10. Allison Ziants made 10 saves in goal for the Huskies, now 2-0, 1-0 in the PSAC East.
The Huskies host Philadelphia University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
